Pars Supporters’ Trust Make Further Investment

Thursday, 24th Sep 2015

The Pars Supporters' Trust contributed another £10,000 to DAFC bringing the PST investment since Pars United took over the Club in 2013 to an amazing £238,000.

The Pars Supporters' Trust contributed another £10,000 to DAFC at half time during our last home match against Ayr United, which brings the PST investment since Pars United took over the Club in 2013 to an amazing £238,000.

It also means that the PST has already achieved the commitment they gave to DAFC, which was to provide a minimum of £10,000 over the course of this season. The PST would like to target raising an additional £5000 before the end of this current season.

Margaret Ross, PST Chair and DAFC Director, explained the importance of this latest investment:-

"The PST currently has a shareholding of around 28% but realise how difficult it will be to increase this much further when individuals are also investing in PU from time to time. The PST is more than happy with its current stake to be above 25%, not just in the short term but for future generations of Pars fans as well".

The PST have also contributed a further £1,800 to DAFC already this season by helping with the purchase of heart monitoring equipment to support manager, Allan Johnston when he first took over, and the sponsorship of two players shirts.

The PST are fully prepared to provide even more funds for specific projects as and when required over and above funds provided in return for shares in Pars United CIC. But, for the PST, it’s not just about making a financial contribution to the Club as they also play a central role in the volunteer infrastructure that is now so important in the day-to-day running of DAFC.

Margaret added "The PST Board would like to thank all the members for their continued support, making today's presentation possible. It really is amazing how much we are able to contribute to the Club just by our existing members renewing and by attracting new members. Membership costs just £20 per year".

DAFC Managing Director Ross McArthur said:-

"On behalf of the DAFC Board, I would like to thank the PST for their latest contribution, as the continuing support of everyone in the Pars Family is so important at this time. It is not just about the PST’s financial commitment though, it is about assisting our club with special projects as well as supporting our volunteer infrastructure, all of which are crucial”
