"It was a really good performance from start to finish. There were a lot of good goals in there as well. Obviously we had guys like Ryan Wallace coming in and I thought that he was excellent, Shaun Byrne as well in the middle of the park. It just shows you the strength in depth that we have got. That should, hopefully, push us on for the rest of the season."
After the disappointing defeat at home to Ayr United the 5-0 thrashing of Stenhousemuir was the perfect response. AJ:-
"We controlled the majority of the game and some of the goals were really good. It was a great cross in from big Shaun Rooney for the second goal. That shows you what he is capable of getting of going forward."
The full back was forced go off in the first half but the manager was optimistic over the former Queens Park player's chances of being fit to face Dundee United on Tuesday night:-
"Hopefully he will be okay, it was just a knock. Both boys just collided and he took a kick on his ankle so we will just have to keep our fingers crossed that he is okay for Tuesday. Our other full back picked up a little injury as well near the end so we will just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.
"The result restores confidence and gets us back on track to play against a top team like United. We know that we are going to have to be at our very best there because they have top players there. Billy McKay scored again today, he is a real goal threat so we know about their good players but you can see that we will cause teams problems with the quality we have.
"We were disappointed with the result last week but when you look back at the performance I think we were a wee bit unlucky to get beat given the amount of chances that we created. That is the way we wanted to bounce back and I am delighted for the players. Now we just have to push on with two games in the space of a few days and hopefully we can come back with two wins.
"It is always nice to get a clean sheet, the defenders are delighted. Because they get a bit of stick obviously for losing the odd goal here and there. I thought big Ben Richards-Everton was fantastic today. Him and Lewis Martin, two young lads playing in the centre of the defence, did really well so that will obviously boost their confidence as well."
Strikers live on confidence too and the manager was delighted to see Mickael Antoine-Curier scoring his first senior goal since scoring for Hamilton in their 2015 New Year derby against Motherwell. AJ added:-
"He is a physical presence, he is still not match fit - it is going to take him some time but I am sure that he will be a big asset for us. Rhys McCabe came on and was involved in the setting up of goals. It just shows you what he can bring to the team."
