Callum's long break
Saturday, 19th Sep 2015"It looks like it will be a lengthy rehab period. I don't have a timescale.
Callum Fordyce was back at East End Park on Friday after what had been a traumatic week for the Pars captain. Speaking exclusively to this website he said:-
"I am still in a bit of pain and just getting my head around it now. Other than that I am staying positive.
"The crutches are hard, I think I would rather run ten miles that go on these crutches. I am starting to get used to them now. The first day is obviously hard and if you get up at night and you are still feeling a bit woozy. Once you get used to them they are not too bad."
The summer signing from Livingston explained the incident that led to his leg break:-
"I knew right away that something was up. I did not know that the extent of it was going to be a dislocation and break until I fell to the ground and looked at my ankle. I saw the bone popping out so as soon as I saw that I realised that it was something major.
"My ankle is dislocated and I have broken a bone in my fibula. I had an operation on the break right away and after the cast off we will find out the extent of my injury on my ankle. We don't know how those ligaments are yet. Hopefully it will not be too serious.
"It looks like it will be a lengthy rehab period. I don't have a timescale. The team has been doing well and I thought I had been doing well so it is hard to take. We have had good positive views from the boys at the club and my family.
"Me and Ryan (Williamson) are on the mend now and we will be pushing each other all the way. This is my first serious long term injury but I am sure that I will overcome it now problem."
Callum's cousin Rhys McCabe signed for Dunfermline on Friday and he is delighted to welcome someone he feels will be a good addition to the team.
