Player of the Month Awards

Dunfermline Athletic striker Faissal El Bakhtaoui has been voted Ladbrokes League 1 Player of the Month for August after a superb start to the season.

The French Moroccan netted 12 goals in all competitions last month, including five in Ladbrokes League 1. El Bakhtaoui scored doubles as the Pars thrashed Brechin City (6-1) and Cowdenbeath (7-1) and was also on target in the 3-1 victory over Stranraer.

Allan Johnston’s side ended the month in second place in the table, one point behind leaders Forfar Athletic.

Twenty two year old Faissal El Bakhtaoui was born in St Tropez in the South of France. Since joining Dunfermline in August 2012 he has made 42 starts and 19 appearances off the bench for the Pars. As of Sunday 13th September he had scored 25 goals for the club.

The Ladbrokes monthly awards are voted for by members of the Scottish media, with a Manager and a Player of the Month selected for each of the four divisions.
