Placing the match ball into a safe place Joe Cardle turned to speak to the media about how his three goals helped Dunfermline back to the top of League One.
"I am delighted we are back on top, that was the main aim today. We knew that if we got the three points that we would go back to where we should be. Today was a big test for us coming to Forfar. We knew it was going to be a hard game and obviously coming away with the three points was the aim but to get a hat trick is a special day for me."
For Joe it was his second career hattrick and his second for Dunfermline:-
"I had one when I was first at Dunfermline against Partick Thistle. It seems a long time ago now bit it is the second of my career and I am very happy."
Joe has pleased to open the scoring as early as the fourth minute of the match:-
"I think it was my first touch. It was a great ball from Michael Paton and I had a lot of space to just caress it into the bottom corner. I have had it in my head in the last three or four weeks that I could maybe get a hattrick this season.
"When you score a goal so early on and the second goal just before half time, the gaffer mentioned at half time 'lets get a hattrick'. As soon as the penalty incident happened I thought 'I have got to take this' but never again!
"I will never step up again, I have learned my lesson. I don't normally take them but on two goals I got a little bit too excited. Josh Falkingham came over and told me not to do it and he was right! If I had never got the hattrick, it would have been something that I would have remembered for the rest of my life. I am glad I got the three goals to make up for it.
"It is fantastic, I know that I keep repeating myself but that is the reason that I am here. I wanted to get the team back to where they should be. It is so early on in the season, but it has been a great start. It is a great changing room and the boys enjoy coming in every day, we just have to build on that now."
Joe described the goal that sealed his hattrick 69 minutes into the game.
"It was a break, I just remember being on the edge of the box. We have had a lot of success from goals like that in the last two or three weeks. We just broke, I think it was Paton who played it to Faissal. I think it was the only pass he made all game. The rest he was shooting.
"It was a great ball, I took a touch and when I saw the big keeper coming towards me, I just played it under him. It was relief as well as happiness. I wanted the hattrick and happily got it."
Super Joe was booked for celebrating with the Pars fans behind the goal:-
"When you score three goals you can go crazy. It just felt right to go in with the fans. They have been fantastic with me since I have come back to the club. It was good."
Joe's brother and professional boxer, Scott Cardle is coming to Dunfermline this weekend for the Jock Stein Memorial Match but he was not at Station Park to see his brother's feat:-
"He is coming up first thing in the morning and going for pre match at Parkhead. He is getting the bus through with all these Celtic legends. I am looking forward to seeing him tomorrow, no pressure on him tomorrow then, beat that."
