Mickaël Antoine-Curier signs
Saturday, 5th Sep 2015Mickaël Antoine-Curier has made Dunfermline Athletic his twentieth senior club in fifteen years.
DAFC is delighted to announce the signing of the experienced Mickaël Antoine-Curier.
Mickaël is not eligible to play in today's game at Forfar Athletic, as international clearance is required to be sought, which should be obtained early next week. Further reaction to follow, after today's game and on Monday.
The 32 year old striker has previous played in Scotland for Hibs, Dundee and Hamilton Academicals (two spells 2009-11 and 2013-2015). The French born striker started his career with Paris St Germain before playing youth team football with Preston North End and Nottingham Forest.
Antoine-Curier has played in seven different countries - France, England, Norway, Scotland, Cyprus, Malaysia and Kazakhstan. It was in Norway that he got his first regular play making 37 appearances for Vard Haugesund in 2004-2006 and then 39 appearances in 2006-2007 for neighbours FK Haugesund.
It was John Collins who brought Curier to Scotland in August 2007 to join Hibs. He made 13 appearances for Hibs before his career followed a pattern of loans to followed by contacts at both Dundee and Hamilton. He left Hamilton in 2011 only to return in 2013 after experiences in Cyprus, Malaysia and Kazakhstan. Antoine-Curier was released from his contract at Hamilton on 2 February 2015 by mutual consent and he then played five games for Burton Albion before becoming a free agent.
Curier was selected by Guadeloupe for the Caribbean Cup 2008, scoring 6 goals in 8 games. He also participated in the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup for Guadeloupe, where they reached the quarter finals.
