"It was really important that we got a result today after such a good result in midweek. How many times when you play on the Saturday and get beat. You fall flat on your face so it was a massive three points for us.
"Some of the quality of the goals was different class. Obviously we know that we can play better; we looked a wee bit tired out there at times but overall I thought we were by far the better team."
Faissal El Bakhtaoui opened the scoring in just 13 minutes and his manager thought it was a special finish. He agreed that it was a peach:-
"It was an unbelievable pass as well. The three goals were different class, it shows the quality that we have got and that was the difference today."
Goals keep coming for the Pars and even a full back got on the scoresheet.
"I have been saying to Jason (Talbot) that he needs to get further forward but that is taking it a wee bit too far. When the left back is heading in at right wing! I am delighted for him. It was a good ball in again and there was quality from the wide areas."
Asked if he was concerned about collecting six yellow cards in the match against Stranraer, the manager felt that it is.
"We said after the game that with the squad that we have got, we cannot afford to give away silly bookings. There were a couple of them that were needless to be honest but overall the result was the most important thing today. It was good to get a few goals as well."
The manager did not consider it having been a dirty game:-
"We have had a lot more physical games this year, to be fair they tried to pass the ball as well but we were more of a goal threat."
Two trialists on the team sheet for the match against Stranraer, so was the manager any closer to further signings and was he concerned about losing any?
"I think that there is a bit of interest in both of them, we will just have to see how it goes over the next week or so. We just have to keep our best players if we want to be successful this year. With a threadbare squad we can't afford to lose anyone."
The win over Stranraer combined with Peterhead losing at Airdrieonians and Forfar drawing at Ayr leaves the Pars one point off the top of the league and the manager conceded that the result the previous Saturday at Peterhead had been a "major blow".
"You are going to get results like that and it is important that you bounce back. I think we have done that in the last two games. Obviously we go into a programme of just having one game a week. Well not for long right enough, the League Cup tie (v Dundee United) will be on the Tuesday night.
"It keeps the boys going and gives you something to look forward to. We just have to make sure that our concentration is on the next game, we cannot afford to look too far ahead."
