25/08/15: "It was a real team performance tonight. I think it would be harsh to pick out individuals, they will all be tired tomorrow."

Manager Allan Johnston was more than satisfied to his team's response to Saturday's first defeat of the season:-

"It was a really hard game, Dundee are a top quality team so we knew that we had to be at our very best to get a result. What a reaction that is from the players after getting beat at the weekend. I think they showed the quality that they have got. Obviously they had a lot of possession but there was a lot of good play from us and we are just delighted to win the game."

His team had started the match well and for the first quarter of the match, one up with the stats having them well ahead in terms of possession.

"We have creative players and it doesn't matter who you are playing against, they are always going to score goals. But the way Dundee play it is hard to stop them; they are a good passing team and we had to be focused for the full ninety minutes to get a result."

Two goals in this cup tie takes Faissal El Bakhtaoui's tally for the season to eleven in six matches and naturally his gaffer was happy to lump on the praise:-

"He is a great player, he has got everything, he has got pace and he can finish. He has got skill and is going to have a big future in front of him. He is fantastic, he just has that ability and his touch and pace caused all sorts of problems. He must be a nightmare to play against but it was a real team performance tonight. I think it would be harsh to pick out individuals, they will all be tired tomorrow."

The Dundee equaliser just three minutes into the second half coupled with a concerted offensive thereafter meant that the Pars defence were severely tested and the manager praised his players:-

"It speaks volumes for the players, they could quite easily have let Dundee back into the game but they stayed in the game, obviously created chances at the end and took them well."

Discussing the effect the result might have on his season Allan Johnston commented:-

"You can see the way the fans got behind the players, it made a huge difference and Saturday now is massive for us. We have to make sure that we carry this result and this momentum into the next game."

Asked what he had said to the fourth official that warranted him being sent to the stand midway through the second half AJ unsurprisingly claimed that he could not remember!

"Just with Ryan Williamson breaking his leg last week I thought that it was a poor challenge and maybe I expressed it a wee bit too far!"
