LifeLine August 2015 Newsletter
Well the season has got off to a great start and I’m sure we’re all enjoying our football. In order to maintain this level of performance and build for the future, it is vital that the Club continues to generate as much revenue as possible and the Centenary Club Lifeline is a major contributor to these funds.
Committee spaces
We are bidding a fond farewell from the committee to both Dougie and Ken Penman, our siblings who have served the committee for a couple of decades between them. We will be making a formal presentation and thank you to them shortly. However, this has created two spaces on the Lifeline committee and we would ask any member to put themselves forward if they think they have the correct skills to help us increase membership, as well as help out with the usual activities including assisting in organising fundraising events.
Please email Jason Barber on Jason@dafc.net in the first instance and any applicants will be discussed by the remaining committee.
We're on Facebook!
We have eventually brought ourselves in the 21st Century and have a Facebook page for anyone to like. Our address is https://www.facebook.com/DAFCLifeLine where you can find out all the latest news and prizes winners, as well as upcoming events as they're announced.
Banking Request
Can we please take this opportunity to ask all members who have signed up for the Lifeline to check that they have completed the necessary documentation and that their standing orders are being processed every month? If this isn’t happening then can we ask that you contact your bank to ensure this is put in place as soon as possible?
Can we also ask any members who chose to pay on an annual basis to make sure their payment for this year is made. Every single penny counts. We’ve had over 1,060 applications made, but we need you all to set up your standing orders at the earliest opportunity to ensure the football benefits.
30th Anniversary prizes galore!
Ensuring your payment is being made not only let’s you take part in our regular Monthly Draw but also puts your name in the hat for the 30th Anniversary Draw that takes place throughout September. Remember that, in each day of September, a member will be elected at random and not only win a DAFC ball signed by the full squad but their name will also be entered into a “Super Draw”, which will be made at the home match against Albion Rovers on 3rd October.
Here one lucky member out of the 30 will win the amazing sum of £3,000!...we don’t want you to miss out on this chance so please make sure everything is in place before 31st August so you can be a part of this.
We've been remiss of late not informing you on a newsletter about recent prizewinners, however they have been published on club's website and in matchday programmes. Here are the recent £250 monthly winners, drawn in early August:
3338 Robert Young Cleish
3944 Connie Hay Dunfermline
3048 Kenny McLachlan Dunfermline
4112 Iain Brown Dunfermline
Sportsman’s Brunch 4th October
Also remember that as part of the 30th Anniversary celebrations, the Lifeline is hosting a Sportsman’s Brunch on Sunday 4th October at Carnegie College Conference Centre. Priced at £15 per ticket with a full cooked breakfast on offer and top class entertainment from both Jim Leishman and Eric Davidson, this is an event not to be missed.
The event will commence at 11am on the day, with a cash bar open from noon until 5pm. Former players will also be in attendance on the day to speak to supporters. Tickets are limited to the first 250 people and are available for either tables of ten, or for smaller parties if you’d prefer. Please email Jason@dafc.net to make your reservation.
Membership Benefit cards
Finally we’d like to remind all members who have not picked up their membership cards yet that these are available at the Club Shop during normal opening hours. This card entitles you to some significant offers from local businesses so, again, don’t miss out on this opportunity. A full list of membership benefits is available on the club website, but we are looking to add more businesses to the list over the course of the coming season.
New Lifeline Website imminent
With the club closing the old Pars United website, which contained the online application form to sign up to the Lifeline, we are proud to announce that a new application page will shortly become available directly from the club’s official website. In the space of the next few days, please continue to use paper application forms which are available from East End Park, or can be posted out to you by emailing Jason@dafc.net
Thanks for your continuing support for the Lifeline and Dunfermline Athletic Football Club and let’s hope the results keep coming!
