Winning mentality wanted from start
Thursday, 25th Jun 2015Lewis Spence has described his pre season training as "probably the toughest that I have ever done."
Lewis Spence told this website:-
"It has been quite tough. Obviously we will benefit from it and hopefully at the start of the season we will be fitter than other teams because we came back earlier.
"There has been a bit of running, games and circuits. Work with and without the ball. It has been a wee bit different, the tempo has been high and everyone has been right at it.
"I am looking forward to putting last season behind us. It was bad, we want to kick on now and win the league. We want to win the pre season games as well even though it is all about fitness. Everybody needs to get game time but you want to win them as well and go into your season with a winning mentality. I am looking forward to the four or five games coming up."
Nineteen year old Lewis is looking forward to facing the new teams in League One - Cowdenbeath and Albion Rovers:-
"Albion Rovers will be a tough one, they won their league last season but every game will be tough. We saw last season that no games were easy and of course Cowdenbeath will be favourites since they are the team that came down from the Championship. Stranraer and Forfar were close to promotion last season.
"It is anybody's league but hopefully we will be there at the end of the season. I want to play every week and add goals to my game. That is what was missing last season.
The new players in the squad have fitted in well claimed Spencey:-
"Jason Talbot is an experienced left back who is good on the ball. Callum Fordyce is a big lad; they were in a higher league last season and bring experience with them."
