Fixtures Announced for 2015-2016
Friday, 19th Jun 2015Opening league fixture is away to Brechin City with the first East End league fixture a local derby v Cowdenbeath on 15th August
Allan Johnston's Pars face an SPFL opening day trip to Glebe Park on Saturday 8th August. The first eight fixtures alternate between away and home. The first of the four local derbies against Cowdenbeath is also the first home league fixture on Saturday 15th August.
The other local derbies will be at Central Park on 31st October and 19th March. The New Year derby against the Blue Brazil is at home on 2nd January.
The Boxing Day fixture is away to Forfar and their all weather surface possibly guarantees a match unless there is a white Christmas at Station Park.
In previous seasons in League One initial interest has been in when fans would get the chance to see the Pars play at Stranraer and Peterhead. This term it is when do Dunfermline Athletic play at Albion Rovers' Cliftonhill since with it being thirty years ago since the teams were last together in the same league, a large number of Pars fans will never have been to the Coatbridge ground. The first opportunity arises on 21st November and then again on 2nd April.
It is a well used cliche that there are no easy games in League One and the Pars will face three of last season's top four in the opening five fixtures. At least the first fixture against Stranraer is at home and trips down the A77 will not be required until 17th October and 16th April.
By the time April comes hopefully the league position will be healthy since three of the last five fixtures, all in April, are away from home with Peterhead at East End the final league fixture.
PLEASE NOTE: All fixtures are subject to change and be aware that certain matches may be moved to accommodate TV selections.
