Friendship Can Change Lives – Become an Advocate
Saturday, 6th Jun 2015DAFC has worked closely with Dunfermline Advocacy in recent months, with the group being the lucky recipient of sponsored season tickets, from some of our ex-pat supporters.
On Tuesday 2 June, Dunfermline Advocacy launched their new film “Friendship Changing Lives”. Over 100 people attended the Red Carpet event at the Odeon cinema in Dunfermline, including DAFC Managing Director, Ross McArthur.
The heart-warming film can be viewed by clicking the link below. It is an invaluable tool to support their work- to recruit more volunteer Citizen Advocates and also to attract additional, much needed, funding to increase their capacity.
Ewan Masson, from Dunfermline Advocacy presented to the Supporters Council Meeting in February at East End Park, and has recently recruited a new advocate following his presentation that night with a shared interest in The Pars!! The film should be an invaluable tool to support their work- to recruit more volunteer Citizen Advocates and also to attract additional, much needed, funding to increase their capacity.
If any further Pars supporters would like to volunteer then please contact Dunfermline Advocacy on 01383 624 382 or enquiries@dunfermlineadvocacy.org
It was also revealed that Dunfermline Advocacy has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Dunfermline Advocacy is one of 187 charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups to receive the prestigious award this year.
The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work in their communities.
Chief Executive, Rachel Annand, is delighted and stated " This is a fantastic achievement for Dunfermline Advocacy and everyone involved- The Board of Trustees who volunteer their time to govern DA, the Staff Team who are fully committed to providing exceptional high quality support to our volunteer Citizen Advocates, and most importantly the people in West Fife who give their time as Citizen Advocates."
Fiona Robertson Vice-lord lieutenant of Fife, attended the film premiere on Tuesday and said a few very kind words about the Award.
