Cammy McClair - reflections
Saturday, 16th May 2015The nephew of the SFA Performance Director, Brian McClair made an impact in the Dunfermline Under 20s last season.
In the first of five interviews with young Pars hopefuls, we talk firstly to 18 year old Cammy McClair. He told this website:-
"I have enjoyed my season and I have learned a lot from Neil McCann, he has had a really successful career and he played on the same wing as me. I have watched a few videos of him and he had me doing some crossing and finishing with James Thomas in the box, things like that.
"It was good experience training with the first team and I was glad to get game time in the under 20s."
Cammy has played in several roles in the 20s but he saw that as good experience:-
"It is good to have a variety of positions. Obviously if I don't make it here I can move somewhere else and it gives me other options.
"I want to make myself stronger and come back fitter. When you are playing against boys maybe just a year older there is not much difference but you notice when you are playing against first team boys there is a big difference.
"Fitness wise we are one of the fitter teams because we work hard and press a lot but physically when you are playing against first team boys we struggle a little. That is why personally I want to get stronger and I think all the boys are the same."
