Dunfermline future out of Buchanan's hands
Monday, 4th May 2015"Whoever is here and whoever is in charge it is a big job but we need to get the club back to where we should be."
"We have played well in spells but we have been punished when the other team has had a spell on the game. That was the same at Airdrie. It was a slack first couple of minutes of the game, they had a chance but I thought we dominated the first half.
"We were deservedly in front but then in the last minute of the 45 we conceded a poor goal from our point of view. It is one of those things that probably just sums up our season.
"As a Dunfermline player I know that it is just not good enough. We wanted to win the league, we didn't do so but the next best thing was to be in the play off places. The fact that a team like Dunfermline is not in there is totally unacceptable.
"Everybody knows that it is not good enough and they will need to go and kick on next year. Whoever is here and whoever is in charge it is a big job but we need to get the club back to where we should be."
Asked about the plaudits given to the Pars supporters by the players at the end of the match at the Excelsior Gregor added:-
"When you have a season like that, they have stuck by us in their numbers week in week out, a lot of people have paid a lot of money to go home and away. The least that we could have done is to go over and thank them like that.
"It must have been a hard season for them if they are as down as we are. They are obviously feeing the same.
Gregor confirmed that he is out of contract now:-
"We have to wait and see who the new manager is, hear his opinions. I have been delighted to be a Dunfermline player. It meant a lot to me to sign with the club. I knew how big the club is and it was an honour to play in that team and even to captain the team at times.
"Everybody knows my commitment towards Dunfermline. I am very happy here but it is out of my hands at the moment. I need to wait and see."
