25/04/15: Even before the game against Forfar Athletic kicked off, John Potter felt that Dunfermline were up against it.

First choice keeper Ryan Scully was forced to pull out in the warm up.

"Ryan's back went into spasm ten to fifteen minutes into his warm up. He tried but it was pointless and he couldn't play. It was a quick turn around with Jamie (Wilson), obviously (second choice) Ryan Goodfellow is injured as well so Jamie had to go in goals with ten minutes preparation.

"He made mistakes for the first two goals - he knows that himself and is disappointed. He never hid, he kept going but he will be disappointed with his debut. It was a soft penalty decision, it was not a penalty and then you are three goals down.

"The boys showed great attitude and great commitment when I asked them to do it in the second half. They could easily have gone into their shell after the season that we have had and said that it is just not going to be our day. That didn't happen but they showed a reaction and I was delighted with them in the second half.

"Jamie Wilson didn't have a save to make in the second half, I think he touched it twice and Forfar might say that they were sitting back but that was from our good play rather than them. You are three goals down at that point due to two mistakes from a goalkeeper and a mistake from the referee - that is where the goals came from and that is the disappointing thing.

"Faissal scored an excellent goal. We have been working on him all season and getting him to hit with his left foot because he usually cuts back on his right. He opened up and it was a great strike from him. He scored, he was a threat and I thought that he performed well all game.

"The disappointing thing is that we wanted to put on a show for the home fans on the last game. Although it meant nothing in the bigger picture, you wanted to go and try and get that win.

"To go 3-0 down in that short space of time is disappointing but we could just have shut up shop, sat back and let the game peter out. We didn't do that we wanted to try and get back into it. I asked for a reaction and I thought I got that in the second half. There was a great attitude out there from the players and I think the fans appreciated that although disappointed with the result."

John Potter handed a starting debut for Declan O'Kane who for a long time was his under 20s captain:-

"Declan has been doing very well in the under 20s. He is very aggressive on the ball, he is a good football player but he has not had the opportunities this year so I thought that we would bring him in to give him a game. I thought that he deserved an opportunity and I thought that he did well especially in the second half.

"He is a bit disappointed in his first half but he was playing against players who he has never played against before. They are tricky customers Forfar's front four but he did well and he is pleased to get his full starting debut."
