Time for Thommo to add to his tally

Friday, 17th Apr 2015

"It is a must win game but we are confident after beating Stranraer last week"

For players and fans alike this has been a frustrating season. No one feels it more than Ryan Thomson. Two seasons ago he found the net 11 times in 41 appearances, last season his tally dropped to six but he did make 35 appearances. So by his own standards one goal from 21 appearances, spells out a disappointing season for the 24 year old.

"I have not played enough and obviously the team has not got anywhere near what was expected of them. We hope we can make a good end to the year, all we can do is hopefully win our own three games and see where that takes us."

Thommo had a couple of injuries that prevented him getting a run in the team and this season has seen him play the least amount of games that he can remember.

"It is a season that I want to put behind me personally and collectively as a team. We knew that it was going to be a tough fight; part time teams are a lot fitter and organised than they used to be. In saying that it does not make excuses for the season that we have had.

"It has been a poor season but hopefully we can win the last three games and hopefully our season takes a turn for us.

"Sometimes you look back in games in which we have been way on top but just not scored the goals. Your luck is not there but we need to do it for ourselves."

The Pars have not won any of their three games against Brechin City this season and Thommo puts that down to his opponents organisation forming a hard to break down unit.

"They work hard at making them difficult to break down. A lot of teams do that in this league but we need to do that on Saturday. It is a must win game but we are confident after beating Stranraer last week who were top of the league.

"Last week we all worked hard for each other and wee Finn came in. I know what it is like as a young boy breaking into the team, you go everywhere, you are buzzing about but he gave us a wee lift."

Out of contract at the end of this season. Ryan's only goal was against Stenhousemuir in September and he is keen to leave Glebe Park having taken the three points with maybe with the added bonus - an addition to his personal goals tally.
