Buchanan says go out and win
Friday, 10th Apr 2015Gregor Buchanan is keen to win all the remaining games and get Dunfermline as far up the league as possible.
He told this website:- "It has been a tough season for the team, nobody will deny that. It has been disappointing and probably not good enough for any Dunfermline team given the size of the club. We have a full time structure and great facilities.
"It is not over until it is mathematically impossible. We have to go out against Stranraer and make sure that we win the game. That's all we can do.
"We have lost some late goals in games that have come to draws. But we have probably not been good enough or collected enough points against the top teams. We have lost every game to Morton this season which has obviously given them twelve points of a lead right away."
The Greenock club are eleven points ahead of Dunfermline and just four behind Stranraer at the top. In the last home game, Morton inflicted the biggest home defeat since Rangers 4-0 win in December 2013 and next up, Stranraer are having a fantastic season:-
"Their forward players are the probably the main reason for that. It will be a big game for us, everyone will need to be on their game if we are going to win."
Even though he is only 25 years old, Gregor had seen enough to know that Dunfermline has a proud history and has big potential.
"Even when I was growing up I know how big club Dunfermline is and it is an honour and a massive privilege to be here. Every time you go out wearing that Dunfermline top you are going out to win the game. It is expected of us."
The central defender claimed that his 100th professional appearance which was against Stranraer at Stair Park in February, coincided with his first ever red card in professional football.
"We have played them quite a few times in big games over the last couple of years, there was the play offs, then the Scottish Cup and the replay. They have been fiery games but you have to keep your composure. Unfortunately I didn't do so in the last game but this is another game. I am a big enough player and I have enough responsibility to not to do that.
"I will be looking to play my game and hope for a clean sheet and three points. I will be happy with that."
