Preview Stranraer
Saturday, 11th Apr 2015Dunfermline are seven points off the final play off place currently occupied by Brechin City.
Saturday's opponents Stranraer knocked Dunfermline out of this season's William Hill Scottish Cup and defeated the Pars on their last two visits to East End Park.
Dunfermline's best result against Stranraer was in Division Two in April 1958 when a Charlie Dickson hat trick helped the Pars to a 9-1 scoreline. Up until December last year the Pars had won every home league game except the drawn match in November 1983 which was just five games into Jim Leishman's managerial career.

Dunfermline are seven points off the final play off place currently occupied by Brechin City. There are twelve points yet to play for and hopefully significant that Dunfermline have yet to play Brechin. Other challengers for that final play off places still include Airdrieonians and Peterhead.
Stranraer went 18 matches undefeated from the beginning of September until after Christmas. They have won all of their last four games but their away form has shown some weakness with two single goal wins and three defeats in their last five matches on the road.

The Pars 2-1 win in Stranraer in August is a distant memory since the sides have met four times since and the Galloway club have drawn one and won three of those league and cup games. The last meeting in February was a humiliating 5-1 defeat and there will be a great desire to right that when Stevie Aitken's men come to town.
