Pars Supporters’ Trust Start 2015 with £15k Investment
Wednesday, 18th Feb 2015Half-time on Saturday, at the home game against Stenhousemuir, saw the PST invest a further £15,000 in Pars United CIC.
This brings investment this season alone to an amazing £25,000, making the running total over £228,000 since the inception of Pars United almost two years ago.
It also ensures that the PST maintains its position as major stakeholder with around 28% of the shares in the DAFC holding company, giving its members a voice on the Boards of both Pars United and DAFC.
Over and above this latest investment, the PST have also donated funds to the football club recently for such things as training gear and tracksuits for the Clubs new signings, refurbishment of the players’ tunnel and the weather protection screens at the viewing platforms in the Norrie McCathie Stand for the wheelchair using fans.
PST Chair and DAFC Director Margaret Ross wished to thank members for their continued support. She said “This latest contribution is the culmination of the fund raising initiatives organised over the last year. We can’t thank people enough for the help they’ve given, not just financially, but in terms of their sponsorship of various events and for supporting those events. As a result, the PST is continuing to build up excellent relationships with a number of organisations within our community”.
The £15,000 cheque, presented by PST Board members Margaret Davidson, Andrew Bailey, Heather Pryde and Dave Blackburn, was accepted by DAFC Director, Billy Braisby on behalf of Pars United CIC.
Margaret added “Membership of the PST costs only £20 a year. Joining is really straightforward and can be done online via our website. Our membership year starts in April and we’re hoping to encourage as many Pars fans as possible to join up so they too can have a genuine say in the running of our Club”.
