Pars New Recruits Get Their Kit On

Supporters Trust happy to help out financially with specific projects

When Pars Head Coach, John Potter, welcomed his first five signings to the Club they were all raring to go. However, before they could take part in their first training session, Jim Paterson, Andy Barrowman, Kyle McAusland, David Hopkirk and Paul George all had to get kitted out in Pars training gear.

Unfortunately, the stock of team wear supplied by Joma at the beginning of the season had already been allocated so John turned to the Pars Supporters’ Trust to ask if they might be able to provide some funding in order to purchase the necessary kit.

John Potter said “We feel it’s an important part of the team culture that we’re trying to instil that the new guys would feel they were immediately part of things here, and providing them with the right gear is very much a part of that. We’re delighted that the PST has come up with the funds to enable us to do that”.

PST Chair, Margaret Ross commented “When John asked if we could provide £400 for the new kit, we discussed it within our Board and decided this was the sort of thing the PST should be helping out with if possible. We’re keen for the new boys to feel part of things here at Dunfermline as quickly as possible and if getting them kitted out in the appropriate gear contributes to that then so much the better”.

Whilst the main focus for the Pars Supporters’ Trust will always be to achieve the greatest possible supporter and community influence in the running of the Club by increasing its shareholding, they are also happy to help out financially with specific projects. This has taken many forms over the last 10 years but most recently has included providing weather protection screens for the wheelchair using fans and part funding the refurbishment of the players’ tunnel, adding inspirational pictures of past Pars players and managers.
