The difference:- we just need to start taking our chances

Ross Forbes has started just nine matches this season for Dunfermline and has come off the bench on another six occasions. His goal on Saturday was his first of the season and it was a fine strike bending the ball home from a 20th minute free kick. He told the website how he felt:-

"It is frustrating when you are not playing but hopefully the change of manager will help my chances. I got back in last week and scored a goal so hopefully there is more to come."

When the 25 year old joined Dunfermline from Partick Thistle, almost a year ago now, he scored three goals in his first four games but unfortunately he has not maintained that success rate:-

"I am sure the goals will start coming, it is just a matter of time. I would be more worried if we weren't making the chances. It is frustrating when you watch from the sidelines only to see that is just not happening.

"If you get your chance in the team, it is up to you at the end of the day. Take your chances and you will keep your jersey; it is good to know that it's all on yourself and not based on other decisions.

"It was hard getting into the team at the start of the season. I was maybe playing two then out for three or four. You cannot get into a rhythm, you need five or six games to get up to match speed and match atmosphere.

"I'm maybe lacking in a wee bit of match fitness but that will come. It's hard just to come straight in and be up to full speed when you've not played much for a few months. A few more games will help that.

"There's still a long way a lot to play for and we're only just at the halfway point of the season. The performances have been great but the ball is just not going in the net."

Stirling are the next opponents with hopefully fresh opportunities to score some goals against the team with the poorest defensive record in Scotland this season. Ross closed:-

"Every game is tough but our main aim is three points every week. On Saturday we dominated the game for ninety minutes. Peterhead had one chance with the penalty and they took it. That's the difference but we just need to start taking ours."
