John Potter has confirmed that left back Ross Drummond has left the club. The 20 year who has made 12 appearances for Dunfermline is joining Berwick Rangers where he has been out on loan for a second spell. The manager explained:-
"Ross is at an age now where he needs to play. I did the exact same thing myself when I was 20 year old. I was here and I wasn't playing all the time. I had to go and start my career by playing regularly. He has to do that and I cannot guarantee him that here.
"He is going to join Berwick Rangers on a permanent basis. They are going to offer him a deal and I am happy for him to do that. I have spoken to him and explained that his opportunities would be limited here.
"In the interest of Ross' career it is best to go away and play regular. He agreed and he will join Berwick. He has done well for us at times but there is competition in the full back areas. It is another opportunity for me to change things about a bit."
Ross' first football was played with Burntisland Shipyard but he has been at Dunfermline since U10 level. He won a winners medal in Dunfermline team that won the Reserve League Cup for season 2009-10.
Despite his youth he was an almost ever present in U19s in 2010-11, played in the SFA Youth Cup Final v Celtic at Hampden, was a regular in U20s and then had two loan spells at Berwick Rangers in 2013-14 and again in 2014-15.
Ross Drummond joins former Pars Craig Dargo, Paul Willis and Kerr Young at the League Two club. Everyone at Dunfermline Athletic wishes Ross well and hopes that this is a positive move in his football career.
