Michael Moffat feels that Dunfermline should have taken some of their many chances to defeat Stranraer on Saturday. He talked to the website after the game:-
"Their keeper had five or six really good saves and they won it in a smash and grab way. They put the corner in and it fell to their centre half who put it in the net. Even after that we kept going and were unlucky not to get a draw."
Michael came closest to scoring for the Pars but saw his 30th minute cleared off the line but there were plenty more good opportunities in the second half:-
"It should have gone in. I went with my right leg instead of my left but the keeper managed to kick it off the line. If we had got ahead in the game I think we would have kicked on and probably won.
"We got into good areas and even when we did make the right choices the keeper was on good form, he had some good saves. There are plenty of positives to take, we just need to get the heads up and go again next week."
New shooting boots are not on Michael Moffat's Christmas list, he is sticking with his old football boots for the time being to see if his luck changes in front of goal. The ball was stuck away by him near the end but he was denied what would have been his fifth Pars goal when the flag was raised for offside. He explained:-
"It was given against Ryan Wallace for the first header, he says that he wasn't offside but that's just the way it is going just now. We are not getting the breaks but if we keep playing like that I am sure that it will come."
John Potter sent his side out to play in a different formation than used of late and the 29 year old who was signed from Ayr United in the summer said that he felt it suited his game:-
"I think the way we played was more to my liking. We were getting the ball forward quicker and we were set up to be more solid because we have ben losing too many goals lately. We had two sitting midfielders with three midfielders behind the striker. It worked well, we played good and created a lot. There are a lot of positives from the performance."
With his side six points behind league leaders Stranraer and without a goal since 13th September, Michael wants to get on the scoresheet as quickly as possible and that's hopefully at Brechin on Saturday:-
"The longer it goes on the more frustrating it becomes. I need to get one and then hopefully go on a wee run."
