Preview Airdrieonians
Saturday, 13th Dec 2014After the disappointment of Tuesday night, Jim Jefferies stressed that the only way to make up for the Scottish Cup defeat was to go out and win League One.
Currently the Pars lie second just two points behind league leaders Forfar Athletic but fellow challengers Stranraer and Morton are on the same points as the Pars making it very competitive at the top.
While Morton are at home to Brechin City, Stranraer are away to Peterhead and Dunfermline travel to the Excelsior Stadium to face Airdrieonians.
Airdrieonians currently lie eighth and are having another mediocre start to a season.
Last season they finished off by remaining unbeaten in the final eight league games but that followed a record of two wins in 20 matches. This season they have won only three times - at Ayr and at home to Brechin and Stenhousemuir - but they are actually one win better off than they were at this time last year!

Airdrieonians 14 points tally masks a month long undefeated run from mid October. At home they have lost only twice since mid August and even then it was only high flying Morton and Forfar Athletic who have left with full league points. Airdrieonians have not won in their last four games but then Dunfermline failed to win four consecutive league games before winning the last two against Stirling Albion and Ayr United.
