Commentary Service for Visually Impaired
Sunday, 7th Dec 2014An on-site commentary service is available on request free of charge for Dunfermline Athletic games played at East End Park throughout the season.
This service at Dunfermline Athletic Football Club uses “Coachman Series” equipment provided with the support and assistance of RNIB Scotland. It is intended primarily for those attending with any form of visual impairment, and use of the service can be arranged on a trial basis if necessary.
Those participating can sit wherever they wish in the ground, since the range of the equipment is such that the hand-held receivers and earpieces provided should allow transmission across the distance required. This means that visiting fans also are welcome to request use of the service, with sufficient notice.
The commentary is provided by David Henderson, the regular match commentator for Pars TV. David is pictured with Club Disability Champion, Ishbel Russell before Saturday’s game against Ayr United.
David can be contacted c/o the Football Club, the Disabled Supporters Group, or direct by mobile on 07955 217636. Ishbel can also be contacted by email DAFCdisability@dafc.co.uk
Arrangements can be made for the delivery and return of equipment for those using the service either regularly, or on an ad hoc basis by approaching David (by no later than an hour before kick-off on match days, please).
