Preview Ayr United
Saturday, 6th Dec 2014Dunfermline and Stranraer might be becoming rapidly sick of the sight of each other but the Fifers' league match against Ayr United on Saturday will be the eighth game between these teams in just over 14 months.
Last season the Pars won four and drew two of the six games and the last defeat to Ayr was nine matches back. That Ayr win was over four years ago on 20th February 2010 in the First Division when a Tam McManus goal ended a run of ten trips to Dunfermline without a win.
This will be 87th league meeting; the Pars have won 38 to Ayr's 26, 22 have been drawn.
The Pars have won nine of the last dozen league meetings. Ayr United have only won 5 of the last 39 games between the sides in all competitions stretching back to 1983.
