For those intending to make the trip and support Jim Jefferies side on the road, it is important to note that East Stirlingshire currently play their home games at Ochilview Park, the home of Stenhousemuir FC. The last time these teams were paired in the Scottish Cup was in December 1984 East Stirlingshire knocked the Pars out of the Scottish Cup as a consequence of a 3-1 win at East End Park. That first round defeat meant that was the first time since season 1952-53 the Pars had not progressed beyond the first round. Of the other three meetings Dunfermline have won twice and East Stirling once.
In February 1964 the Pars won 6-1 away from home, in January 1932 Dunfermline won 5-2 at East End Park and ten years before that the Shire won the first Scottish Cup tie between the teams 2-1.

David McKenna played with Stranraer last season. The Shire manager is Craig Tully. Signed in 2008 to play under the management of Jim McInally, and spent three years playing at Ochilview. He joined McInally when he became Peterhead Manager, joining as a player-coach. When John Coughlin stepped down as Shire Head Coach, Craig was appointed as his replacement. He still is registered as a player.
