Scully saves the day

"I am there to do a job and I did that against Forfar."

Ryan Scully showed great modesty in describing his performance against Forfar as simply "alright":-

"You can be pleased with your own performance but it about the team getting the three points. We knew what Forfar were going to be like - they would sit back and try and hit us on the counterattack.

"I had a couple of saves to make in the second half but in the first half I didn't have much to do. We got the chance at the end to score the penalty to win the game and it was disappointing not to take it. All we can do is bounce back and take three points next Saturday."

Ryan claimed that his fine stop in the first half was just a reaction save that he didn't really know too much about.

"That's my job I have to make the saves. We had the majority of the possession and when we were going for the winner we leave ourselves a bit exposed at the back. I am there to do a job and I did that against Forfar."

Gavin Swankie came close to being the first opponent to score at East End Park in this league season, Ryan added:-

"It was like slow motion, agonising to watch but luckily it didn't go in. You think with that wee bit of luck and being awarded a penalty at the end that it was going to be our day but obviously not this Saturday. We will hopefully kick on next Saturday."

Ryan dismissed suggestion that maybe he could be a contender for penalty kick taker:-

"I'll not go into that. Obviously it is just one of those things. Moffat should have been stepping up, he is a penalty taker. Gozie was confident enough to step up but he knows himself. He has held his hands up and he is as gutted as anybody."

The Pars keeper earned the Man of the Match Award and his double save in the second half went along way to earning that:-

"Buchanan got a good touch after the first save, then the next one basically hit off me. I was just delighted."

To keep yet another home shut out is a tremendous record and the 21 year old keeper praised his defence which he feels has really benefited from the arrival of Gregor Buchanan.

"We have strength in depth this season, everyone of them can step in and play well. Buchanan came in , Stuart Urquhart came in but got a wee knock and Lewis Martin has been different class. We have Ross Millen and Ryan Williamson who give us a lot of strength at the back. We have become a much more compact team at the back."

Last season Ryan and his defence achieved just 10 clean sheets so with eight already now there is a significant difference and it one that Ryan would like to see maintained:-

"It is really about getting the three points but you are on a roll you want to take pride in keeping clean sheets. Last season we had a young defence and with another year's experience we have really matured."
