Pars Support Poppyscotland
Friday, 24th Oct 2014DAFC commissioned the manufacture of 32 commemorative shirts. These were available through a 'secret' auction that closed on Friday 24th October.
Commemorative shirts were worn by the players in the match against Greenock Morton at East End Park on October 25th. The shirts were embroidered with the poignant words 'Lest We Forget' and displayed the Poppyscotland logo.
After the match, 30 of the shirts, which are a one-off and will not go on general sale, will be signed by the players, management team and a selection of Pars legends, and will be auctioned off with the proceeds (less costs) going to the Clubs selected charity for this year, Poppyscotland.
Club sponsors Purvis Group have generously agreed to cover the embroidery costs. The auction was conducted on the Football Forum of the Pars fans’ website www.dafc.net and administered by PST member Kenny McLachlan. Kenny can be contacted via email on kenny.mclachlan7@googlemail.com.
Of the remaining 2 shirts, one will be retained by DAFC as a historical reference whilst the other will go to the PST who will match the lowest of the 30 auction bids.
This shirt will then, in turn, be put up for raffle where all Pars fans can purchase a ticket for £1 giving everyone the opportunity to own what is sure to be one of the most sought after Pars shirts in the Clubs history.
All profits from the raffle will then be handed over from the PST to DAFC. Raffle tickets will go on sale prior to an upcoming home game and will be available from various sellers around the stadium.
