Tuesday, 23rd Sep 2014Lewis Martin named in Scotland under-19 squad for European Championship qualifiers
Pars defender Lewis Martin has been named in the Scotland under-19 squad for the start of their European Championship qualifying campaign next month.
National coach Ricky Sbragia's squad was announced the three-times capped 18-year-old has retained his place in the pool of 18 players.
But his inclusion could see him miss Dunfermline's League One fixture at Ayr United on Friday 10th October due to a clash with Scotland's first qualifying round fixtures.
Scotland travel to Lithuania for the round-robin first group phase, where they will kick-off against Finland on Tuesday 7th October before playing the hosts on Thursday 9th October and Norway on Sunday 12th October.
Martin made his under-19 debut as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat in Belgium in August before winning his second and third caps against the Czech Republic earlier this month.
The group winners and runners-up will progress to the elite qualifying round, which will be played early next year.
The eight-team finals will be played in Greece next summer.
