Appreciation Ale
Monday, 22nd Sep 2014Dunfermline Athletic 'Lest We Forget' real ale goes down a treat
Dunfermline Athletic was absolutely delighted to receive a picture of members of the Army Personnel Recovery Centre (Edinburgh) enjoying a well earned pint of Dunfermline Athletic 'Lest We Forget' real ale, after a training session in the Cairngorms.
A firkin of the beer was gifted to the centre, sponsored on behalf of the Club by Co-operative Funeralcare, and arranged by Kenny McLachlan. It was brewed by John Reade at the Abbot Brewhouse, Dunfermline.
Captain Del Hamilton (an avid Pars fan) and Welfare Officer at the Personnel Recovery Centre said "donations such as this help to confirm to the people at the Centre that society values the contribution that they have made. It is much appreciated".
Bob Garmory, Chairman of DAFC said "We are proud to support the work of the Army Personnel Recovery Centre, and wish the lads all the best for a speedy recovery. The beer was brewed for our World War One day, and it is important to remember that soldiers continue to suffer injury in the service of their country."
