"I said to them at half time that I was happy with the performance, I just felt that in the last third we were wasteful. From the possession and pressure that we had we should have created more.
"At times we got into positions but the best move in the first half was when Moffat hit the bar. We were much better in the second half. Round about the box we were dangerous, Williamson was just unplayable in the second half. Josh (Falkingham) was getting in behind them and we totally dominated.
"It was a really really good performance today, the only thing we could say was that Stenhousemuir got away lucky with just 2-0. They did well to keep it to 2-0 because they were under pressure most of the afternoon. Their big defenders had to deal with a lot. It was a thoroughly good performance and 2-0 doesn't do them justice.
"Given the way that they played and the chances that they created it could have been a lot more. Their goalie has had two or three great saves as well."
With Stranraer beating league leaders Ayr United 2-0, Dunfermline's 2-0 win takes them above Ayr. The manager talked about that too.
"It is nice for the supporters to see us top of the table but we need to treat the table carefully. We have only played five games. You need to look at it after a dozen games, them you get a feel for it.
"It keeps the supporters buzzing but one result can change everything. It is all about where you are at the end of he season but leagues always take shape after ten to twelve games. We will keep it going and after losing a couple we need to go on a run. Two wins before today's game doesn't constitute a run. Five, six, seven games and then you are on a run.
"That is three games now but we have some tough games especially next week at Morton. Hopefully we can just keep the momentum going. Now that you are up there it also gives you the task of trying to make sure that you stay there.
"We have a good squad and they showed that. Look at the strength of our bench today, we are equipped for a good season but we have to do it week on week out."
Ryan Thomson was deployed as a striker and the Manager commented:-
"There is no doubt that he is a better midfield player coming on. He was helping me out last year because I had four strikers out injured. You need a bit of strength front;that is one of the reasons we brought Gozie in.
"It maybe just didn't quite work out for Gozie with two big defenders to take care of. It was important that he was there because I felt their big danger was set plays. They had some big lads and we needed him for that. He gave them a handful as well.
"When he is keeping them occupied up there with the physical side, that other players like Moffat get the benefit. Probably everything fell to him in the first half, maybe just a wee bit wasteful but once he got his goal - because he is always a threat - and with the man getting sent off we just felt that was the right time to go and exploit that by getting on a wide player. Andy Stirling had a good spell, setting up a couple of good chances.
"Overall it was a good performance. Falkingham was excellent in the second half but for me I thought Buchanan was outstanding at centre half today because he never gave Grehan much of a look in. He is a big handful we know that having played against him at Stranraer but I thought we marshalled him well today.
"The eyecatcher of the game was Williamson just like he was last week at Stranraer. He goes on these fantastic runs, he is unplayable when he is like that, he is so quick with great feet. It was nice seeing him getting into good positions and putting in some crosses that we have been working on. We have been looking at situations when there is no space, he has got to give us a chance at the back post and he did that three or four times today.
"The one at the end when Gozie tried an overhead kick, Andy Stirling was coming in and should have been screaming. He would have put it in but these are things that they will learn from. Overall it was an outstanding performance; 2-0 doesn't do the team's performance justice today."
