Geggan takes no chances
Sunday, 31st Aug 2014Andy Geggan reckoned that Dunfermline adapted well after the sending off of left back Ross Millen just 34 minutes into the league game at Stranraer on Saturday.

After the match he commented:-
"I thought the boys started off well but then we had the man sent off. We adjusted until half way."
The Pars skipper felt that Stranraer striker Craig Malcolm should also have been sent off in the first half.
"think he had about five fouls and only got one booking. But hey-hoe the game went on and he got sent off in the second half and we adjusted to it again. We played just the way we usually do.
"It could have been a bit more comfortable in the end, I missed three chances. Honestly I do not know what was going on today. I am just glad to get the win and the three points we wanted.
"It has taken us a couple of games just to get into it. We have had midweek cup games that have taken its toll a bit but the boys have stuck in well."
Prior to Millen's red card the Pars were 1-0 up thanks to a 9th minute goal and they were in complete domination. Andy agreed:-
"I thought we were doing well. I told the boys before the game just to keep it tight and take no chances. Obviously big Gozie scored which was great.
"The sending off whipped the game up a bit but I do not think we were that bad at all. At half time I was saying just to sit tight and keep playing the way we play. Make sure that we go with runners. Lewis Spence and Josh Falkingham did well today matching the runners."
Andy felt that the sending off was a little harsh because he believed that Ross Millen didn't touch Jackson Longridge:-
"I know he was clean through but I don't think he touched him. I said that to the ref but I have seen these given before. He gave it, there is nothing we can do now, we just need to get on with it."
The view promoted by Stranraer manager Stevie Aitken that Craig Malcolm only handled the ball because he was pushed in the back was not one Geggan would agree with:-
"I just saw his hand got up to try and flick it in. That's what happened, it was his mistake so that's what happens."
