Preview St Mirren
Sunday, 24th Aug 2014Dunfermline may be out of one cup but we are very much alive in the other.
The Pars travel to St Mirren Park to take on the SPL side in the second round of the League Cup on Tuesday night, kick off 7.45pm.
While the Fifers will be underdogs, this Dunfermline team has shown against Raith and against Falkirk (even if we didn't get the result we wanted!) that they can compete well with teams from a higher division.).
Dunfermline have already played St Mirren twelve times in the League Cup competition, and have come out winners on eight of those occasions so we've got a good record. The last time the teams met Dunfermline were in a lower division then too, but still won.
That game at East End Park was played on 23rd September 2008 when the Pars were in the First Division. Nonetheless Dunfermline went on to win 2-0 thanks to goals from Graham Bayne and Simon Wiles.
