Circuit Training for Pars
Sunday, 17th Aug 2014Pars Players work hard to avoid the Skids!
DAFC and Knockill Racing Circuit are both working closely together, to support each other this season to allow both local institutions to continue to prosper.
A number of the DAFC first team squad recently visited Knockhill, and spent an afternoon at the Skid Training Centre, to learn skid control and avoidance techniques.
Ross McArthur, Director stated “we are working hard to develop proper partnerships with local businesses and other leisure facilities, and our link up with Knockhill is another example of this. I would like to thank Stuart Gray and everyone at Knockhill for their support and assistance.
"As part of our tie up, Knockhill were happy to provide an instruction day for our playing staff, which as everyone know, is largely youngsters. It was therefore important to be promoting better, safer driving and looking after the squad. The circuit at Knockhill is a fantastic facility, and the instructors are first class. The players had a fantastic afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.”
Chief Skid Pan instructor Bill Wardlaw said, "for a younger group of drivers with not too many years of driving between them, they were all really keen to learn the skills of skid avoidance and skid control and we hope that they will never need to use them on the roads for real".
