Dunfermline Athletic

Pat Clarke

Pat Clark

Squad No.21
Contracted until May 2012
Striker Pat Clarke joined Dunfermline from Dundee on 15th July 2010. For Pat this was the start of his second period at East End Park and followed his youth team years at the Club that had terminated in 2004 when he left for Raith.

The Edinburgh born lad had started his senior career with Dunfermline but only turned out twice for the first team. His first appearance came at the age of 18 against Dundee United on 17th April 2004 and later in the same month he was used as a substitute against Rangers. The next season with Brewster, Hunt, Mehmet and Lyle still around, Pat still wasn`t in the frame for the Pars first team and was allowed to go out on short term loan to Berwick Rangers. In his ten appearances he netted once but was allowed to join Raith Rovers on a permanent basis when he returned back to Dunfermline.

His Raith career couldn`t have gotten off to a better start as his double on his debut earned them a 3-3 draw with Clyde. Pat grabbed another couple of goals before the season was out but the next season he found himself out on loan again, this time with Arbroath.

During his spell at Gayfield he scored his first senior hat trick in a 7-2 victory over East Stirling and also scored another two before returning to Raith after 13 games.

After finishing the season with Raith he was allowed to move on to Cowdenbeath which was a successful move for Pat. He netted 17 times during his first season including scoring five in a 6-1 victory away to Stranraer.

He continued his scoring run with another eight during the first half of the next season and after agreeing a pre contract agreement with Clyde the clubs agreed a fee which meant the move could go through during the transfer window.

Pat`s nine goals before the season was out were a huge help for Clyde as they battled to stay in the league. His winner in the first leg of the play off final against Airdrie United went a long way to securing their First Division status and his goal in the home leg secured that the club would survive.

14 goals in all competitions was enough to attract the interest of then Dundee boss Jocky as well as other managers in the division although not enough to secure Clyde`s place in the league for another season. went on to play for East Fife and complete his set of playing for all four Fife clubs.

As at 31st May 2011: Dunfermline appearances 20 (+21 as sub.), 10 goals
