Dunfermline Athletic Head of Youth department, Stephen Wright, would like to say well done to all the the Dunfermline Athletic youth players who took part in the cyclethon at Blaze Hair and Beauty salon in Dunfermline last Saturday.

The event was organised by Christine Curtis the owner of the salon, for the young players to raise money to take part in the annual football festival in England in early August. Stephen said:-

"It was a great day enjoyed by everyone, especially the youth players who worked very hard in taking turns to cycle the combined total of 330 miles from East End Park to Oakham in Leicestershire.

"The players managed to do this on three static bikes outside the salon during the six hour cyclethon. The day was helped along the way with a few first team players from Dunfermline Athletic making an appearance for pictures with the kids and together with the kind generosity of the shoppers in the Kingsgate donating money towards the trip, it made to a very enjoyable day".

Stephen would like to express his thanks to everyone involved in raising money for the festival along with Christine for helping to organise the event and Dave Robertson at Planet Velo, who kindly supplied the bikes for the day.
