JJ case not proven
Tuesday, 3rd Dec 201303/12/13: Manager comments on cup draw as sending off at Elgin is dismissed
Jim Jefferies has learned that "not proven" was the decision of his disciplinary hearing following his sending off during the Third Round Scottish Cup tie at Elgin.
Referee Barry Cook had sent the Pars gaffer for a seat in the stand midway through the first half after claims that he had protested too much over the yellow card shown to Josh Falkingham for alleged simulation.
The Manager will now face no further action and should his team successfully win through their Fourth Round replay on Wednesday night will be in the dugout at Ibrox as his side face Rangers in the next round. JJ commented on the draw:-
"When the draw is made you look for one of two things. You either want a home tie and a favourable draw that gives you a chance to progress or, if you get a difficulttie, you want it to earn the money that would be the equivalent of a good cup run.
"What this draw does is give both Ayr United and Dunfermline the chance to earn a few quid. We know how strong Rangers are from playing them recently. But the chance to play one half of the old firm is a huge incentive financially."
The Manager also confirmed that Preban Erland will return to Dunfermline in January so that he can have another look at the Norwegian striker from Hundvag in Stavanger.
