More than a mascot
Friday, 29th Nov 2013Ross Millen has led out the oppo!
Ross Millen is ideally placed to know how Saturday's opposition are approaching the cup tie against Dunfermline. His father, Andy, is Assistant Manager there to Mark Roberts and so Ross knows that the 5-1 league win for the Fifers did not go down well. He fully expects Ayr United to want to get one back on Dunfermline for that earlier defeat. Ross expects a tough game and revealed that his father wasn't saying much about that first meeting in September:-
"He was quite quiet, obviously disappointed and we would be the same if it was us. We don't really talk about games at home, we leave football at the door."
Ross Millen missed out of the last match against Brechin City with an ankle injury but was back in training on Thursday.
"It went well today, hopefully I will be fit for Saturday and in the squad. Last Saturday Ryan Williamson came in and did really well. He deserved his chance and took his chance. "
Ross takes every game as it comes and Saturday will be just another tough game. He is looking forward to returning to the club where he was once a mascot but priority remains getting through this round.
"It is hard down at Ayr as I know from being their watching my dad play there. It will be good to go back but we just need to take it game by game."
