Brechin City had a poor start to the season getting knocked out of the Ramsden Cup and Scottish Communities League Cup in the first two fixtures. Peterhead and Stranraer were the teams progressing at their expense. The league season handed them an opening day fixture at Ibrox and although they had back to back victories in August over East Fife and Forfar, they have only won twice in the next eleven.
