Update 26th November 2013 - 702 Applications received!
Dunfermline Athletic Football Club are pleased to announce that the Centenary Club Lifeline has now received 534 new applications. This comes less than two weeks since the launch of our crucial fundraising scheme at Dunfermline's Alhambra theatre on 29th October 2013.
Bob Garmory, Dunfermline Athletic Chairman commented "To achieve that level of support in less than a fortnight is truly remarkable and once again demonstrates what our proud Club means to the Pars family. It is also heart-warming that a number of remote or ex-pat fans have stepped forward to support the "lifeline" scheme.
We are well and truly on our way to achieving our ultimate target of 1,000 members which would then create a fantastic base to move our Club forward for years to come. I fully appreciate supporters must be weary of continual appeals for their financial support, but I cannot emphasise enough how important this initiative is to the revival of DAFC."
Along with all of the new interim board, Manager Jim Jefferies has already signed up to the new "lifeline", and Club Legends John Watson and Jim Leishman duly signed up before Saturday's game!
Jim Jefferies stated "To have 534 fans signed up to the Centenary Club Lifeline already is incredible, but I would urge everyone to keep the momentum going and encourage their own Pars friends and family to sign up too. If we reach 1,000 members that not only represents £200,000 per annum to the Club, but a very attractive prize fund of £40,000 for members!"
The Club would like to highlight that as the majority of supporters have applied on-line, can we remind new members that THEY must contact their own bank to set up the standing order mandate for £20 per month. They must highlight their unique membership ID number (which was emailed to them) to the bank to ensure this is quoted as the reference number for the monthly standing order.
Pete Campbell, Chairman of the Centenary Club added:-
"The Centenary Club Lifeline committee is delighted to confirm that the initial target of 500 members signing up to the new lifeline scheme has now been reached. Supporters have responded positively in their droves to sign up to the monthly or annual standing order options which have been set up both online, and using the application forms which are available from East End Park.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank every single person who has committed to helping fund Dunfermline Athletic through the Centenary Club Lifeline, and look forward to updating supporters with further news on the total in the coming weeks. Talks are now underway with Dunfermline Athletic to ensure the first prizes will be handed over to winning supporters at the Dunfermline v Rangers match on Monday 30th December at East End Park.
Please continue to sign up to Centenary Club Lifeline via the online link here: http://www.pars-united.com/cclifeline/join-here/ and help ensure a secure financial footing for our football club."
