Friday, 1st Nov 2013Elgin City have lost only one Scottish Cup tie at home in the last nine seasons. Last Saturday`s defeat to Annan Athletic was their first defeat in nine games.
When Dunfermline travel to Elgin on cup duty this Saturday it will be their first visit to Borough Briggs on competitive business. It is certainly touring Scotland time for Jim Jefferies team who will have played the most southerly and most northerly clubs in the Scottish League in the space of a week. The Pars have only met Elgin City once, that was in the Scottish Cup in season 1982-83. On 29th January 1983 when Dunfermline won 5-0 at home with doubles from Grant Jenkins and Gavin Tait adding to Derek Rodier`s early opener.
