Ross wins Millen dual

"We cannot just play one game like that and then not do it in the next game

Ross Millen

Ross Millen celebrated his birthday on Saturday with a win over Ayr United. He claimed it was a good victory that his side thoroughly deserved. The fact that his dad, Andy was in the opposition dug out did not appear to make any difference to the nineteen year old. It was maybe just as well however that Ross sticks rigidly to his match day routine which means that his mum, Sharon, runs him to and from games.

"It was just another match, nothing really changes. My dad's just my dad really and I do not see him in any other way. He does his job and I do my job. After it we are back to son and dad again and we will probably go out for dinner. He will be disappointed but that's football.

"It was a good win; I would have taken a 1-0 win anyway. We have been playing very well without getting the wee breaks, they came today thankfully so we are delighted with that.

"Everybody was taking the chances so it was good. We have been doing it in training but obviously the fans do not see that."

Ross was not one of the four goalscorers on Saturday but he said that he always claimed assists:-

"I would say for maybe two of them. It was a great strike from Whittle and the other boys as well. I came close but was a bit unlucky, it was a good save from the goalkeeper.

"We showed it this week but we cannot just play one game like that and then not do it in the next game. We will not be disrespectful to any other team and say that we will score five or six goals. A good win will maybe calm us down a bit at the back because sometimes we need to be a few goals up to calm us down. We are young and learning.

"We go to Forfar next which we saw last year was a difficult game so we need to go there with a positive attitude and try and get a win."
