It was a phenomenal result to win 5-4 over Stenhousemuir so Jim Jefferies would not overreact by criticising his team for leaking four goals:-

"They showed spirit to come back and played some good football. They scored some fantastic goals; that is what they are like. I felt that in the first half we were more in their box than in ours yet we were 2-0 down.

"That was because of a slack pass back which you cannot legislate for. It was just a bad decision and badly executed. It gives them a goal and we have been guilty of that. Then the second one was a straight forward corner that we should be dealing with.

"We were 2-0 down but got up the other end and got in great positions. There was nothing in the game, it wasn't as if we were getting pummelled, we have just gifted them goals. We were in the ascendancy getting into their box with great spirit. Alright you could argue that we just didn't have the final ball and just couldn't get an opening.

"There was one great bit of football where we knocked it in where Ryan Thomson knocked it down for Jordan Moore but he just couldn't put his foot through it. That is what we did in the second half, we put our foot through a few and had great strikes.

"I thought we started the second half quite well but Kerr Young was short with a slack pass that let's the boy in and I couldn't believe that was happening. We got one back quickly and then you could see us lift the game.

"But then we gave away another sloppy bad defensive goal. I could pick holes in the goals that we lost but I am going to let them enjoy it. Their heads never went down; they have never gone down in any game that I have seen them in this year. Even at 2-0 down the other night against Raith, they kept plugging away.

"If we created openings somebody was always going to get on the end of a few goals. Once we got the equaliser there was only going to be one winner. It was a stonewaller because it looked like we were going to score. We had one or two more chances as well - Geggan chose to lay it back when he should have volleyed it and there was another time when he had it on the edge of the box and he just needed to find Stephen Husband who was in the clear on the right hand side. Wallace should have squared it better - we had some great chances.

"I was always worried because defensively today we were a wee bit shaky, it was not like us. I am not going to go overboard about the goals we lost because they had spirit, determination, will and goal finishes were worthy of letting them off the hook verbally.

"It was a cracking game. 3-0 down and 4-2 down but to comeback and win 5-4 speaks volumes. They are a young side and they take their knocks. The great thing for me is that today they took their knocks but did something about it.

"Our goals came through our mistakes, our goals came from quality football - that was the difference. We had to work hard to get our goals and they were all great finishes, good football goals for me.

"When we got it back to 4-3 there were still ten minutes to get a draw out of it and that is a long time in football if you are a defending team who have been 3-0 up. It must have been an eternity for them. We knew that if we could get one more chance we would score because the momentum was with us.

"It must have been deflating for them. They got their goals too easy and we worked extremely hard to score some great goals today. For a game like that you have to credit both teams and the good thing today on a surface that is not the best, there was no wind. It made it better for football."
