Thommo's future can be bright
Monday, 29th Jul 2013Goal was payback for mistake at Cowdenbeath goal
Ryan Thomson hopes that the goal he scored on Saturday at Central Park is the first of many he will score this season especially since he is being played as a striker. It was almost a year on from the opening league game of last season when he opened his account with a double against Cowdenbeath. Those were the first of his eleven for the season
"It is good to get a goal, this is not a bad ground for me. We didn't play well in the first half and I was partly to blame for the Cowdenbeath goal. When the ball came in, I should have gone with my runner but when it went over my head it ended up being headed back in straight to my man. I was glad to get a goal back to make up for my mistake and help the team out. We will do well this season if we can keep playing the way we did in the second half."
Ryan dismissed suggestion that the players could have been sidetracked by the impending CVA decision on Tuesday coming:-
"Whatever happens on Tuesday happens, no matter bad nor good we just need to deal with it. We hope its good news but we just had to play the game and at the end of the day, when you are playing football you do not think about things like that. It is probably good to get you mind off it.
"We just wanted to get back to playing competitive football on a Saturday. That has started well. "
