Pars Ladies heading to Alloa for Cup Final
Tuesday, 28th May 2013Pars Ladies to play in their first cup final this Sunday
Pars Ladies are playing in the Division 1 League Cup Final on Sunday 2nd June, 2pm ko at Recreation Park, Alloa. Entrance £5 adults, £2 concessions.
Dunfermline Athletic Ladies FC have been in the SWFL for many years now, however this is their first ever cup final, an achievement which they are immensely proud of. They won the 2012 Division 2 East League and were the national 2nd Division runners up, which gained them promotion to this season's Division 1. They have also now started a 2nd team to help build a pathway for their youth teams and help develop current players and further promote womens' football in Fife. They have six very dedicated coaches who have all shown great committment to the Club's ethos and objectives.
The squad has a healthy mix of both experience and youth, with players ranging from 18 to early 30s, and from all walks of life, with students, schoolteachers, a fire fighter, a naval officer and a police officer in their ranks. they have been fortunate to be able to keep a good group of players together for a number of years now, and one of the most consistent comments they regularly receive regularly is about how good thier fitness levels are. This is testament to the desire of the team to succeed, with many players doing extra training outside of normal training sessions...Insanity and TRX are the favourites! The Ladies team have goalscorers throughout the team, and versatile players willing to play in any position necessary...but most importantly of all they have great banter and excellent team bonding events!!
As a newly promoted team, their aim is to consolidate their position in the First Division, so to achieve a Cup run is a bonus. The players are really excited with the new and increased challenge week in week out, and are keen to show they not only fully deserve their place in the First Division, but that they can add quality and be an asset to the league. Hopefully they can demonstrate this by delivering a good performance in the final!
They are still actively looking to recruit new players for all positions so please get in touch via our Facebook page or contacting Penny Aitken on 07763871356.
Please come along and support DALFC in our first ever Cup Final and be our 12th player!
