Rollercoaster ride for Ryan

Sunday, 19th May 2013

"We always seem to want to do it the hard way. Annoying but we just need to deal with it.

RYAN THOMSON

Ryan Thomson echoed his team mates sentiments when he told the website that there is no way they want to be playing in next season's Second Division:-

"Last game of the season and like it has been all season, we have made it hard for ourselves. To get beat 3-0 has given us a massive task. We are all confident that we can do it, especially on our own pitch. There is no more AstroTurf and we feel that we can turn it around.

"We always seem to want to do it the hard way. Annoying but we just need to deal with it. It is doable; we went away to Partick Thistle and scored three goals against the new First Division Champions. If we can do that there is no way that you can say to score three goals against Alloa at home is an impossible task.

"We need to have a right go at it right from the start. Everybody knows what is at stake, nobody wants to be playing Division Two football."

RYAN THOMSON

Dunfermline were well in the first leg but lost poor goals to let their hosts go in with a two goal advantage at half time. Possession levels were good but there was very little to test Alloa keeper Scott Bain.

"They scored a goal in added time at the end of the first half. We always seem to lose goals at crucial points but we never seem to get these breaks. Look back at the Partick Thistle game where they scored in the 95th minute after us leading 3-1. That prevented us from being safe. The whole season things have been going against us.

"Football is a tough game and things like that happen. We just need to move on and hopefully we can do the business on Sunday."

RYAN THOMSON

Ryan hopes that Pars fans will turn out in their numbers for Sunday's important match. "The Club is in a bit of a mess and when we were given a fifteen point deduction, we knew things like this were going to happen. "

The rollercoaster that has seen the Pars fall from league leaders and championship contenders to avoiding relegation in the play offs is hard to believe. Ryan cannot believe the season that he has had:-

"That just shows you what football is like and that's why everybody loves it so much. Anything can happen and you have seen that this season especially."
