Manager on Thursday
Friday, 26th Apr 201325/04/13: JJ - We are not looking for any favours and will have to do it the hard way.
Jim Jefferies is hoping that the Thistle players minds will be on their post match First Division title party that is arranged to follow what is the Glasgow side's last home game of the season.
"We will be treating it like they still had the championship to play for. We are not looking for any favours and will have to do it the hard way. With the squad we have every match is tough and they don't come much tougher than Partick.
" Nobody gave us a chance at Morton and probably nobody gives us a chance on Saturday but as we proved you can never say never. We will have to work even harder and it would be an even better result because you are playing the champions.
"They deserve to be the champions" conceded Jefferies whose side is much changed from the one that went to Firhill and won in the Scottish Cup last December. "The young team before are now the older ones now and it is even younger still that are coming in."
Jim feels that his young team have been terrific and he just hopes they can be that all over again in the final two games of the league season as they take on the clubs, firstly at the top and then the following Saturday, the club in bottom place.
"You don't know what way it is going to go. One game you make mistakes and get punished for it. They didn't play badly but in the last two games they have learned from it. They have not given away so much and got results. Who would have thought we could have had back to back wins and two clean sheets? One thing that is guaranteed is that they will give it their best shot. "
Jefferies will be without the injured Andy Geggan but he is hopeful that Ryan Wallace might be fit to come off the bench at Thistle if he comes through Friday's training. Chris Kane is suspended for one match so he will sit this one out. Craig Dargo is also sidelined at the moment through injury.
