U20s v Aberdeen

DUNFERMLINE 0 ABERDEEN 1
Dunfermline started brightly and Scott Mercer had a shot on goal in the eighth minute. Five minutes later the Pars had a lucky escape when Ryan Goodfellow attempted to return the ball to Lewis Martin, but the ball hit Aberdeen's Declan McManus, and Goodfellow quickly smothered the loose ball. Two minutes after that a good run and cross by Mercer just evaded the head of Blair Henderson. Then Fayssal had a shot at goal but it went wide right.
Aberdeen's Craig Duguid had a good run on the left, but the ball was smothered by Goodfellow. Another run by Fayssal resulted in the pass being too strong for Blair Henderson. Henderson did have a shot on goal two minutes later, but it went wide right. Murray had a good run and cross for Aberdeen but Andy Ritchie cleared the danger for a corner.
Dunfermline had the better possession in this half with the wind, but would it be the same in the second half?
Half time: Dunfermline 0 Aberdeen 0
At the break, Calum Helm replaced Blair Henderson. Aberdeen started this half brightly and it took some time for the young Pars to get into the game. Early on, Aberdeen had a couple of corners in quick succession, the second of which caused some panic in the Pars defence. Goodfellow made save in the 49th minute from O'Neill, after a good move by Masson. A minute later Finn Graham had a shot which broke to Mercer. His left foot shot was blocked for a corner.
In 74 minutes, a good move betwen O'Kane and Mercer resulted in the ball being cut back, but Ritchie's shot went wide of goal. Two minutes later Declan O'Kane and Calum Helm combined and when Helm's cross came in it was cleared for a corner before Gray could get a touch to it.
Dunfermline were to rue these chances as in 79th minute the Pars lost the ball in their own half and Murray put in a cross which Alan O'SULLIVAN converted. Aberdeen had another chance in 90th minute which Goodfellow blocked with his foot. In added on time, Ross Drummond was taken out by Scott Rumsby when on a good run to goal. Declan O'Kane took the free kick approx 20 yards out but his shot was deflected for a corner.
A fairly even game in which the strong wind caused havoc for both sets of players.
