In 84 league meetings Dunfermline have won almost half but this season has yielded only one point from the possible nine. That solitary point came at East End Park in October when it looked all three were to be heading the visitors way, that was until a Stephen Husband penalty and a late Ryan Wallace strike saved a point.
In December the Pars went down 4-2 at Cappielow despite leading for more than a third of the game. Callum Morris had headed the Fifers into a tenth minute lead but conceded an equaliser on the stroke of half time. Two quick goals early in the second half flattened the Pars hopes and although Ryan Wallace got it back to 3-2 with 13 minutes to go, Michael Tidser polished the Pars off as they fought for the equaliser.
Morton scored another four goals against Dunfermline when they returned to East End Park in February. Callum Morris scored yet again but unfortunately Dunfermline were 4-0 down at that stage seven minutes from time.

Morton lost 1-0 on Wednesday night when they met league leaders Partick Thistle at Firhill. That was their second defeat in three games and the consequence is that there is now a five point gap between Thistle and Morton. This will no doubt strengthen Allan Moore`s side`s desire to make up for things on Saturday.. Dunfermline have failed to win in their last ten games and are now desperately in need of points if they are to avoid the play offs. Cowdenbeath in eighth are three points ahead but have an inferior goal difference..
